AI & Creativity - Reading group

11 September 2026, 11:00
Room M21, Via Modena

This session of our interdisciplinary reading group “AI and Creativity” opens a new focus on AI and the Image, , turning to Jean Baudrillard’s account of simulation and the hyperreal, and taking up the question of reality and representation that our reading of Bergson left open. In this third meeting, we will read Jean Baudrillard, Simulacra and Simulation, “The Precession of Simulacra,” pp. 3–10 (trans. by Sheila Faria Glaser; University of Michigan Press, 1994); and Xerox and Infinity, an essay from Baudrillard’s “The Transparency of Evil”, pp. 51-59 (trans. by James Benedict, Verso 1993).

This group welcomes anyone interested in the intersection of technology, creativity, culture, and ethics. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, September 11th at 11:00am in Via Modena, room M 21, and on ZOOM (link will be sent around in due time).
